Flagship Program · Shift Formation Certification

Become the kind of leader the world actually needs.

A six-month formation experience that is more hands-on, more intimate, and more demanding than anything most leaders have encountered before — designed for people serious about who they're becoming, not just what they're building.

This is not a course you take. It is a season you undergo — with a personally assigned facilitator, a spiritual advisor, and a small cohort that knows your name, your story, and your journey.

Why This Matters

Formation has downstream consequences.
So does the absence of it.

The Shift Certification exists because the world doesn't need more capable builders — it needs more formed designers. People who build with intention, hold power with integrity, and shape institutions that strengthen the communities they serve rather than extract from them. What you leave this program with doesn't just change you. It changes what you build, and who inherits it.

For your career

A verifiable credential in ethical leadership and institutional design differentiates you in any environment where character and integrity matter — resumes, boards, grant applications, leadership roles.

For the organizations you build

Leaders who have done formation work design healthier institutions. They build accountability structures before crises. They diffuse power instead of protecting it. They sustain mission over the long term.

For the people you lead

Formation is downstream of leadership. When you are more grounded, the people around you — your team, your community, your congregation — experience it. Your formation is never just yours.

For the communities you serve

Institutions shape culture. What you build will outlast you. The Shift Certification helps ensure what you leave behind strengthens communities rather than extracting from them.

For this cultural moment

We are in a moment of institutional distrust, leadership collapse, and accelerated building. The world doesn't need more capable builders. It needs more formed designers — people who build with intention, ethics, and the end in mind.

For the long haul

Most programs prepare leaders for what's next. This one prepares you for what lasts. The formation you receive here compounds over decades — not just quarters.

The Curriculum

Identity → Ideas → Institutional Integrity → Cultural Renewal

Five integrated formation domains — each building toward the next. This is not a survey of leadership topics. It is a progressive sequence that starts with who you are and ends with what you leave behind.

I. Identity & Theological Formation

Who is the designer?

  • Identity in Christ vs. identity rooted in ideology, role, or achievement
  • Suffering, healing, and formation under pressure
  • Personal resilience and sustainable rhythms for long-term stewardship
  • Discernment of strengths, limitations, and blind spots

...and more

Architectural Outcome

Participants develop a grounded understanding of identity, vocation, and formation that will shape how they steward ideas, relationships, and institutions throughout their lives.

II. Ideas, Calling & Discernment

What is being entrusted?

  • Motivation discovery: examining why we want what we want
  • Discernment practices: listening, testing, waiting, and restraint
  • Knowing when to build, when to pause, and when to let go
  • Evaluating idea readiness, timing, and fit

...and more

Architectural Outcome

Participants articulate the ideas, opportunities, and responsibilities they are called to steward from a place of alignment rather than ambition, pressure, or ego.

III. Institutional Integrity, Power & Human-First Design

How will it be designed?

  • Power dynamics: how power forms or deforms individuals and institutions
  • Mission drift and subtle ethical erosion
  • Consequence mapping and second-order effects
  • The theology of limits: knowing when not to expand, scale, or act

...and more

Architectural Outcome

Participants develop a framework for designing institutions that steward power responsibly, protect human dignity, and maintain integrity as they grow.

IV. Community, Partnership & Co-Authoring

Who is shaping this with you?

  • Co-authoring life, leadership, and mission with others
  • Friendship, accountability, and the cost of honest relationships
  • Cross-cultural humility and partnership design
  • Avoiding saviorism, dependency, and performative leadership

...and more

Architectural Outcome

Participants develop relational frameworks and partnership practices that strengthen discernment, increase legitimacy, and support healthy long-term stewardship.

V. Institutional Design, Systems Thinking & Cultural Renewal

What future is being shaped?

  • Theory of Change development
  • Designing for long-term cultural influence and renewal
  • Human Impact Assessment frameworks
  • Monitoring, evaluation, and feedback loops — testing congruence over time
  • Legacy, succession, and institutional memory

...and more

Architectural Outcome

Participants develop an integrated blueprint for stewarding an institution, initiative, ministry, or venture that contributes to human dignity, institutional integrity, and cultural renewal — including monitoring, evaluation, and feedback loops that test congruence and welcome correction when things drift from the original vision.

Core Formation Question

Who are you becoming, what are you being entrusted to steward, and how will what you create shape the future others inherit?

What You Receive

You don't just complete this program.
You leave with architecture.

Every participant is known — not managed. You receive a full team dedicated to your journey: a personal facilitator, a spiritual advisor, expert advisors in each domain, and a cohort community that walks the entire season with you. Here's what that looks like from day one.

6-Month Journey

An individualized formation journey tailored to your unique situation and calling. Not a curriculum you move through — a season of life you enter.

Remote + In-Person

Primarily remote and relational, with intentional in-person intensives designed for deeper formation. Shift is based in Denver, Colorado — our intensives may gather in Denver or other inspiring locations across the US, chosen for their beauty and unhurried pace.

Weekly Cohort Sessions

Live, facilitated cohort sessions — 1 to 2 hours of deep conversation, shared formation, and honest community with peers on the same journey.

Your Own Lead Facilitator

You meet weekly with a personally assigned lead facilitator — someone who knows your story, challenges your growth, and walks closely beside you.

A Personal Spiritual Advisor

Every participant is assigned a personal spiritual advisor — someone who prays with you and walks alongside you for the entire journey, not just the academic or professional dimensions.

A Dedicated Prayer Team

A team of 2 to 3 people specifically assigned to pray for you throughout the program. You may not meet them — but they will know your name, your story, and your journey.

Direct Expert Access

Throughout each module, you receive 1 to 2 hours directly with expert advisors, authors, program directors, and PhDs — many whose books you'll be studying. Rare, direct access.

Formation Artifacts You Keep

You create real artifacts throughout the program — tools, frameworks, and documents you take with you into your life, leadership, and institutions. Not passive learning. Real architecture.

A Community That Lasts

The cohort you go through this with becomes a lifelong formation community — people who know your story, have walked your season, and will continue to challenge and encourage you long after the program ends.

What You Earn Along the Way

Five Professional Toolkits.
One at a time. All yours to keep.

As you complete each formation domain, you earn a stackable micro-credential — a verifiable badge representing the specific professional toolkit you've built. By the end, you hold five, plus the full Shift Formation Certification.

Credential I

Identity & Formation Toolkit

Grounded self-knowledge, vocational clarity, and personal resilience frameworks for long-term leadership.

Micro-Credential
Credential II

Discernment & Calling Toolkit

Practices and frameworks for evaluating ideas, timing, and alignment before you build.

Micro-Credential
Credential III

Ethical Design Toolkit

Power analysis, integrity structures, and human-first design tools for institutional builders.

Complete all five → earn the full Shift Formation Certification

A single, portable credential verifying formation across all five domains — shareable with employers, boards, and grant committees.

Who This Program Is For

Formation for every field, every calling.

The challenges of identity, power, calling, and ethical coherence are not unique to one profession. Whether you're in finance, medicine, the arts, or the church — the formation work is the same.

MBAs & Finance Professionals

"High performers who've optimized for results but feel a growing disconnect between what they achieve and who they're becoming."

Filmmakers & Content Creators

"Creatives navigating the tension between artistic calling and platform pressure — building audiences while questioning what they're actually building toward."

Musicians & Recording Artists

"Artists who built their identity around their craft and now struggle to know who they are apart from their sound, success, or stage."

Solo Entrepreneurs & Founders

"Founders who built something real but now carry the weight of it alone — or are unsure if the thing they built still reflects who they are."

Medical & Healthcare Leaders

"Clinicians and administrators navigating systems that often dehumanize — both patients and providers — while trying to maintain compassion and ethical clarity."

Humanitarian Aid & Development Workers

"Practitioners who entered the field with deep conviction and are now grappling with saviorism, secondary trauma, and the complex ethics of intervening in others' lives."

Mental Health Workers & Therapists

"Caregivers who give deeply to others but rarely receive the same quality of formation, honest reflection, or identity work themselves."

Pastors & Ministry Leaders

"Leaders who carry enormous spiritual responsibility for others but often lack honest community, accountability structures, or space to examine their own formation."

Tech Leaders & Product Builders

"Builders moving fast in environments that reward disruption — but rarely pause to ask whether the thing being built is good, or what it's doing to the people building it."

What You Leave With

Your Formation Portfolio.
Built one artifact at a time.

Participants don't observe the content — they're engaged by it. Every domain requires honest reckoning, deep reflection, and production. Over six months you produce 16 formation artifacts — real tools, frameworks, and documents that go with you into your future life, ministry, and institutions. Five of those become your core Formation Portfolio.

The Formation Portfolio

Domain I

Values & Convictions Map

A documented articulation of what you actually believe, why, and how those convictions shape how you lead and design.

Domain II

Vocation & Calling Memo

A written discernment of what you're being entrusted to steward — and the motivations beneath it.

Domain III

Power Audit

A structured map of where power concentrates in your context, how it forms or deforms people, and the guardrails you'll build.

Domain IV

Partnership Architecture

A framework for how you co-author, hold accountability, and avoid saviorism or dependency in your relationships.

Domain V

Theory of Change

A working model of what you're building, who it serves, and the feedback loops that test congruence over time.

16

Formation Artifacts

Across five domains — building into a complete portfolio you take with you.

1

Signature Capstone

Every other artifact leads to this — the Future Stewardship Canvas.

Signature Artifact

The Future Stewardship Canvas

A single, integrated framework completed throughout the program — synthesizing every domain onto one page. What the Business Model Canvas became for entrepreneurship, the Future Stewardship Canvas is for ethical institutional design.

Coming Soon

This is what it looks like
to take the next step.

We're building toward our first cohorts — small, intentional groups of leaders committed to doing the formation work before they build, scale, or step into what's next. Here's how the process works.

Step 1

Express Interest

Reach out and tell us a little about yourself — where you are, what you're sensing, and what drew you here. No application required at this stage. Just a real conversation.

Step 2

Receive the Full Program Overview

We'll send you our complete program guide — the curriculum, what's included, what to expect, the full investment, and what the formation journey actually looks like from the inside.

Step 3

Apply & Move Forward

When you're ready, we'll walk you through the application. We'll also provide a professional one-pager you can share with your employer if you're pursuing this as vocational development — many organizations will cover the cost.

A Note on Cost

Many employers, organizations, and institutions will cover the cost of this certification as a professional or vocational development investment. Once you express interest, we'll provide a professional one-pager designed specifically to help you make that case — whether to a manager, board, HR department, or organization.

You don't have to figure out the funding before reaching out. That conversation is part of the process.

Seats are intentionally limited. If you're sensing a pull toward this, don't wait.
